This might be more cute than funny but I just loved this prompt so I had to do it. :)
~*~*~*~*~
Hyper didn’t know what it was but she felt very drawn to the leather-clad man when he told off those stupid meninists. He was tough but he was tough in all the right ways. He knew when people were being stupid but he was still passionate about his interests.
She wanted to get to know Devil Boner even more.
After her fellow fangirls went home, Hyper stayed behind as Devil Boner began to hop on his motorcycle. “Hey!” she greeted as she went up to him.
“Oh hey,” the spikey-haired man replied with a manic grin. “What can I do ya for?” he asked, putting on his helmet.
“I was just wondering…do you wanna go hang out sometime?” Hyper asked. Directness was probably best in his case. He seemed like a type of guy that didn’t like bullshitting around. “I-I could treat you to dinner if you want,” she offered.
The taller man thought it over before handing her a helmet. “Hop on,” he told her, grinning as she plopped the helmet onto her head. When she was on the bike, he looked back at the innocent girl. “Hang on kiddo,” he advised before riding off through the desert.
Hyper blushed as she wrapped her arms around the taller man. She had never ridden on a motorcycle before but she felt safe when she was with him. It was the oddest feeling to her. She never felt this way about anyone except maybe the Nostalgia Critic. But now that she was thinking about it, her feelings for him and this strange feeling about Devil Boner was different in a way.
Not wanting to get a headache from thinking about it too hard, Hyper just shut her eyes as she held onto her driver. She just wanted to enjoy this moment.
~*~**~*~
It was getting close to sunset as the duo made their way through the desert. Hyper opened her eyes as she looked around at the scenery. The fading light made the rock formations look even more beautiful than they already were. Looking up, she saw the sky had changed from a bright blue to a mixture of oranges and purples as the setting sun cast long shadows on the ground.
“Beautiful…” she whispered.
“Yeah…” Devil Boner smiled as he looked back at her.
They soon stopped off at a biker bar. Devil Boner helped Hyper off his bike as he guided her inside the building. She had never been inside a place like this but she was pretty impressed. It had a rustic interior with wooden furniture and a well-used pool table near the back with a bar off to the side with giant barrels filled with beer. The patrons all looked like they were enjoying themselves as they talked amongst themselves. The older man moved through the crowd with Hyper until they found themselves a more private table.
“Wow. Nice place,” Hyper smiled shyly.
“Thanks. It’s my kind of place, he grinned. He then looked at her in curiosity. “So what made you want to ask me out?” he wondered, raising an eyebrow as she blushed.
“Well…you really told off those stupid meninists to start,” she told him, causing him to grin triumphantly.
“Those pussies must be really shitting themselves now,” he laughed, recalling how they were carted off for military recruitment earlier in the day. “Oh how I would love to see them during boot camp, crawling through mud and all that crap,” he mused.
Hyper giggled before she continued. “And the way you kidnapped the Nostalgia Critic? That was inspired,” she praised.
“Honestly it wasn’t that hard to capture him. Wave a box of Cheerios 2 in front of his face and you have him,” Devil Boner shrugged.
“I tried playing to his inner man-child when we reviewed The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement together. It almost worked but I messed up by having the Bay-former movies mixed in there,” she admitted.
“Which one? Even for my explosion-loving ass those movie are garbage,” he told her.
“All four?” she squeaked.
“Easy mistake,” he assured her. “First one’s good. The rest are crap.”
“Got it,” she nodded, writing his tips down. “Wait…you don’t think it’s weird I try to kidnap the Nostalgia Critic?” she blinked.
“I kidnapped the guy when he said Fury Road was just good! Believe me, I get it,” Devil Boner replied. “Nothing wrong with following your passions kiddo.”
Hyper beamed as DB ordered their drinks. He was one of the few people outside of her group of fellow fangirls that didn’t treat her hobbies as something childish. He was living the dream of being a badass that could do whatever he wanted and didn’t care what other people thought. And he wasn’t that bad looking to boot.
After a fairly decent dinner, though she had a feeling the bikers drank so they wouldn’t taste the food, the two of them left the bar. She had kept up her end of the deal by paying for their meals. It was fairly cheap so that was good too. Though the price probably wouldn’t have mattered to her since she was just happy with the company that he gave her. They exited the building and were greeted by a beautiful desert evening sky. The stars were very bright out in the middle of nowhere like this with the sun barely visible over the horizon.
“Thanks for dinner, Hyper,” Devil Boner grinned. “Driving trucks and chasing down internet celebrities really makes a man hungry.”
“No problem. And thank you for letting me take you out,” Hyper blushed. “I haven’t had a real date in a long time so it was nice.”
“I’m sure the next one will be even better for us,” he told her. “I’ll try and take ya to a place that doesn’t reek like gasoline and beer,” he promised.
Hyper blushed from that statement. “Y-You’d want to go out with me again?” she stammered, surprised he wanted a second date.
“Sure! You’re passionate and a little kooky; my kind of woman!” he laughed. Even behind his manic eyes, Hyper could feel a warmness coming from him. “What do ya say Hyper? Wanna give old Devil Boner a shot?” he asked.
“Yeah…I’d like that,” Hyper smiled, giggling loudly when the scruffy man gave her a quick smooch on the cheek.
“Hot damn!” he cheered as he guided her to his bike. “Come on baby. Let me give ya a ride home,” he offered.
Hyper nodded as they got on his bike once more. She snuggled up to him as she felt the bike starting up under her. This had started out as a very strange day for them both but it ended pretty nicely. She found someone she didn’t know she was really looking for.
And maybe that would lead to something even better for them both.
